Despite the warning of blue-green algae blooms in the Charles, HSURV headed out to the river for a kayaking adventure. We deposited ourselves in double kayaks and traversed the stormy seas, attempting to catch the wakes of passing motor boats and tour boats filled with amused tourists. The sun was bright, although the temperature was comfortable and the air relatively dry. The view from the Charles was simply grand, as the Boston and Cambridge skylines gave us a beautiful panoramic display of the surrounding area. It was a great start to an amazing weekend (many of us would travel to Providence, RI later that day for the Waterfire festival).
